My Ride: 2010 E60 535i Sportline, 20" wheels, soon-to-be custom stereo
Default Bass in my E60

I got a 2010 E60 535i back in September (it’s February now) I updated the anemic 6.5” screen to an Android 10.25 screen and added a backup camera… I also added a Kicker 10” L7 in a custom ported box and Kicker 800.1 amp… I designed the box to be tuned to about 28Hz and it POUNDS… but my only issue is that my car doesn’t have the ski pass through or fold down rear seats, so I’m losing a lot of that bass energy in the trunk… what’s a good/best way to get more bass into the cabin?… I’m not looking for hair tricks (the car sounds the way I want it to and it digs DEEP) but I’m sure I’m losing a lot of sound in vibration energy in the trunk versus air in the cabin

cutting a pass through? Cutting the package shelf? Cutting the metal on the back of the seats?

You can replace it with one with a passthru if you can find one a the junkyard. All E60s have the same back.

interesting… I didn’t know you could remove the metal back on the seats… I thought it was welded

No it's not. You can either get an older seat that comes in 2 pieces or with your model it was one piece and the factory cut and fitted the pass thru.

Keep it simply like Seanjordan20 said, and just replace the seat back. I did mine with 200wRMS and have no issues with Bass in the cabin (and I have competed in IASCA sanctioned events in the past)

This is used seat folding back that I just installed.

You will need to remove the seat back release handles from the donor car to install into your car (left and right handle)

You will also need the latch assembly that keeps the seat back in place (don't forget to keep all the screws/bolts that you remove)
