My Ride: 2005 BMW 545i, Silver Grey, Sport Package, R. Shades, Cold Pkg, Sat. Rad., Prem. Sound.
For what this information is worth, take a look and see if you have a good car seat for your child.

While I personally thought the Graco SnugRide was not very tight (I have one and I know how to install it correctly), CR rated it well over more expensive ones.

They seem to be rating primarily on ease of fitting and installation. Is that all that matters? Don't think so! And LATCH is not a crash protection system... it's an anchoring system.

I'm not familiar with Consumer Reports, but it seems similar in spirit to the UK's Consumers' Organisation and its magazine "Which?" They also seem to come up with completely counterintuitive results, largely because they get non-experts to devise methodologies and do tests.

My 5month old daughter uses the COMPASS carseat and according to CR, the belt that attaches to the LATCH system is not reliable. They say it is better to use the car's seatbelt to attach the carseat to the car.
And your point regarding my post is?
I did not realise that LATCH used belts in any way. ISOFIX uses only rigid metal/plastic components, AFAIK.

Looks like Consumer Reports has retracted the story. Their tests appear to have been flawed.

I first bought the original BMW Isofix seat. But in this seat my son didn't sit comfortable at all, actually he started crying from the moment he sat in.
I returned (it was no problem) to BMW, now I have a MaxiCosi PrioriFix, and my little son is very happy again to tour ....

Sorry, cannot resist J/K.
I'll look at MaxiCosi to see how it goes for my son!
