Right after I got my M5 166 wheels, someone on the forum recommened that I get axxis pads to keep the brake dust down. I have had them for a couple weeks and decided to call a local highly recommended BMW mechanic (not a dealer) to have them installed. He said he would install them, but would not guaranty they would not squeek, or perform as well as OEM brake pads, or that they won't wear inappropriately with the rotors. He said OEM brake pads are softer than most and are designed to work specifically with the OEM rotors.

At this point, I guess I'll just store the pads in the basement. Do you agree with him?

I had OEM brkae pads and they squeeked like hell.. .I purchase a set of AXIS pads and installed them... They make absolutely nooo noise. There is no dust and they perform just as good as my OEM pads...

He's an idiot.

Most pads exceed oem specs. Im really tired of hearing the same old line about performance brakes from dealers and bmw mechs.

The other day my dealer tried to void my CPO because I modded my car. Quick call to my lawyer solved that for them.

got axxiss and they performed if not better then my OEM, I have a slight squeak but nothing to bad, I put a crap load of that quiet stuff on them too. When I get a free weekend I might open it up and put some more. The only that happened to me was I think I messed up the sensor so my brake light is constantly on in my dash.

Have them installed dude, also dont forget to bed them in.

I have them on only in my fronts and I tell you my rears are so dam dirty compared to my fronts! get them you will be very satisfied you did!
