My Ride: 2004 BMW 545i, Olivin Green, w/Sports Package, basic stereo, chrome wheels, tinted windows, Bluetooth enabled with Moto V710 (Verizon), Sirius Sat Radio (aftermarket), Auxiliary Input for Ipod.
Sorry for the new thread but the other Aux Input threads were getting too long.
My problem/desire for my 2004 545i.
1) My car did not come Sat Sirius Prep
2) I added an aftermarket Sirius Tuner (via FM Modulator)
3) I have an I POD and would like to have access to that as well.
BTW: I love my JVC Sirius Receiver. The review can be found here. http://www.siriusbackstage.com/forum/viewt...13354%20target=
Problem: The sound quality of my IPOD through FM modulator is not very good. On a 1-10 scale with 1 being a transistor radio and 10 being Over-the Air FM radio, its about a 3 or 4. The sound quality of Sirus is better, probably a 6. Its better but still not anywhere near FM radio. FM isn't a great as CD either.
Question 1) How much will my sound quality improve going with a direct connect? Both the IPOD and my Sirius radio has same headphone output jacks so both will be compatible (my guess).
Question 2) I don't know if or when E60 owners will be able to "ipod my bmw". Let's say they work on it and comes up with a solution. Will this new Aux input interfere with the "Ipod my bmw" connection? My understanding was that this works with a CD Changer connection.
I'm not an audiophile by anymeans but i do want good sound in my car.
