Thumbs up

I have an ipod, I want to play in on my new E60, my E60 comes with BMW Business CD only my dealer told me to get the ipod option for my E60, unfortunately having the ipod options means disabling the CD6

Q1. Any ipod options available which will not disable the CD6 ?

Q2. Anyone know how/where to get AUX port for the E60 ? The new E90 comes with AUX port as a standard features, my dealer told me the AUX port is only available for the E90  the AUX port seems more generic

I bought the MONSTER iCarPlay Wireless, the quaility isn't that good, especially in Hong Kong, where its so hard to find an empty channel, which doesn't work very well, keep getting static

HELP !!!!

There is no ipod option!
Ipod can't be integrated into idrive!

The only thing you could do, get the AUX Input installed. This will be in your idrive entertainment menu, but you can only turn the AUX Input on and off, you can't control the connected device.

But you certainly won't lose the CD changer. There have been some posts explaining that.

On the older models that get a Ipod adapter ( like the E46 3 Series) you loose the CD Changeer because the Ipod adapter uses its input port

Your dealer is thinking of the iPod connector, which conflicts with CD changer--but is not yet available on E60.

You can get the aux input installed (instructions attached below)--I did, and did a hardwire install of my iPod--here's info:

Has anyone done this install themselves? Where does the aux cable connect? Does it connect to the iDrive screen or the DVD/CD module? How do you pull these out. or can you get to them through the glove compartment? The dealers here in Germany must see SUCKER written on my forehead and are quoting 2.5 hours of installation at 90 euros and hour. Definitely overkill!!!!!!!!!!!!!11

My dealer charged me 1 hour labor ($140)--that's what the instructions from BMW say it should take.

You can try to do the install yourself but you will require a visit to the dealership to get the car programmed to recognize the AUX In connection.

Attached are the instructions for your reference.
