I'm not in the US and the dealer has the installation info about the pin thing, I've seen it...
Maybe he forgot to read it??

Iceman,

I believe the dealer uses the same document as the pdf flying around in the forum. It is mentioned but it's confusing, they deliver exactly the same plug with the one to which you need to switch the pins as mentioned in the document. My dealer initially made the same mistake.

I guess you're right.
My dealer contacted the BMW dealer tech hotline today and will let me know asap.

Just ordered the part from Leith BMW in Raleigh NC for $77 without any problems. It will be here in 3 days. I will have my car stereo place install it with the XM receiver and then have the dealer do whatever they have to do to activate it. Thanks for all of the help! this is a great forum... I will report back

Wow - same dealer, almost same car - except mine is an 05. Where do you live? I am curious where you go for the install and how much it costs.

Wakefield... Got mine as the last 04 they sold I believe. They might have had one more. Clint sold it to me. Great guy... I did not want to wait till Jan, when I could get what I wanted as MY05.

Audio Express on Capital Blvd is awesome. Those guys have installed XM on 545's already. Leith takes all of their cars their for the non factory DVD option.

XM Commander, not the Roady or Roady2... They have already done an install here with it and it sounds great.
