I'm starting to use my AUX input for my ipod again and I noticed that when i have the idrive switched over to AUX, there is a static/whining noise that increase with my acceleration as I'm driving. I checked the plugs to make sure that they're plugged in securely and made sure there was nothing wrong the cable. I thought i saw someone post something about an AUX input fix but couldn't find anything on a search. Does anyone else have this problem? Any possible fixes?

Alternator whine.
It comes from poor grounding in the electrical system. Unfortunately, if you are using the cigarette adapter plug then you'll have a hard time defeating this problem. Try twisting the plug in the socket. Otherwise, you'll have to spring for the MOST interface.

Ah, thank you for that. Oh well I guess I will have to deal with it. Its not so bad just sometimes when the songs are fading out or when its not playing at all i can hear it.

Install the part yourself, and then take your car in for a warranty software update. Check out the Progman 25 threads to find bugs that are fixed, and then make a complaint about your car.

Does Progman 25 automatically update the ipod interface if i have it installed or do i need to specify to my dealer that in addition to the progman 25 update I would also need to ipod update?

did you ever resolve this problem? I have the same thing happening when the device is being powered by a cig lighter. Also, I'm barely getting any sound on the drive side of the speakers. Wondering if the issue is the same.
Thanks
