I have installed the AUX port in my car, but have no option to play it. Is it supposed to recognize this automatically, or will it not recognize it until the car is recoded. I do not have the cd changer, and I did not disconnect the negative battery, should I do that? Thanks for your help!

The car needs to be coded. Right now, it literally does not know that it's there.

I figured that was it, just can't believe the dealer charges me $100 just to program the computer.

This is correct.

Find someone local that can code for you and get it enabled for cheaper. It literally takes 5-10 minutes.

I got mine coded at an indy shop for less than $50, don't bother with the dealer.

Wish I could. Have one shop I am going to try, but not many choices in Springfield, MO. Does anyone know what needs to be added? The code I mean? That way i can just tell them?

well, when they code the car for the AUx Input they also enable MP3 playback. Not sure what specific code they need for that though.

Ok, so new issue. Car has not been coded, instructions said to unplug the wires that were plugged in, and plug the aux input in there, now I have no bass in my car. Not just through ipod, but through whole stereo. Did I unplug something I shouldn't have?
