A very common problem. Happens very often.
Your lazy dealer didn't connect a device to it for testing fter he was done...

Dealer gave the install a thorough test, he has given it a clean bill of health. He has said that I need a good quality interconnect. I didnt actually witness this testing so am a bit scepticle. I'm about to buy a 3.5mm/3.5mm cable now so will report back

Update, went back and asked the question again, did you have music coming from the speakers...answer no!!!

I thought there was something not right this morning...they dont have a clue, so they are calling BMW to get some answers, I have suggested that they reinstall the CIP and check allof the physical connections...3 hours wasted for them to tell me what I already know. Oh yeh they tried to say that there are different cable types for different MP3 players..total crap!! Anyway they are on my wavelength now so fingers crossed.

In the aux input instructions (bottom of page 6), it says you need to switch the position of the wires in the connector, and I remember reading about a few dealers who overlooked that step and the aux input didn't work. Here's the instructions--you might want to give them to your dealer!

Done by my dealer.

You can basically have the AUX Input installed wherever you want, as long as the cable is long enough for it.
[/quote]Hi,

that's the point

I would like to get the Aux setup below the luggage trunk in my E61 (to install there also more equipment.
My dealer is not sure whether this will lead to quality problems as he has to enlarge the Aux Cable.
Has anyone experience with this?
