AUX INPUT
What a run-around. I have an 05' 530i. Some people say there is an AUX input under the armrest console. Some dealers wanted $300+ to install an AUX input in the glovebox saying it takes several hours labor + a $75 part. Is there not an adapter for the CD change to AUX available yet? Will there be one in the future? Any help in this area would be greatly appreciated.

I Have a car on order waiting for delivery. I understand that it has to be programed at the dealer(latest software)anyway. Can the Aux. input be activated without it being connedted? Can I install the Aux. myself afterwords?

No, the E60 does not have it built in. E60 may never have it factory installed.

The facelift for the E60 will come in fall 2003 + 4 years!

Yes the E90 does indeed have Aux already in from the factory in the center console somewhere (I have not looked but it is in all the brochures). No, the E60 does not have it built in.
Right I can tell you that the E90 does have it as a standard. Another thing that makes me mad... $40 part (yes its really only $40) I think its the same as a 3 series AUX and the same as a MINI AUX part.) and they wont even give it to us E60 owners but on a lower end 325 it comes standard!
