just picked up car...had aux input installed while car was in for windshield replacement....tried it with my rio karma 20GB mp3 player....VERY IMPRESSED with sound quality from the unit...they did a basic install where the input "plug-in" is in the dash.....so the driver's cupholder works PERFECT as the holder/holster for the mp3 player...it even angles in my direction and even with the smaller screen i can still read the song title....it was somewhat a bummer not having the "info" displayed in the i-drive screen but within about 10 minutes i had gotten used to glancing at the mp3 player....and with the ability to have that much music at my fingertips it was a small price to pay ......this should at least hold me over until the cd player will play mp3's later this year...
one final note....i am actually glad that i don't (yet) have the ipod.....the white would really stick out in the interior as well as all the white cables etc.....the rio blends well.....!!

You can easily get a black skin for the iPod to make it blend-in. The iPod is so far superior to any other portable MP3 player that it's worth the 40% or so premium.

Thanks! I havent found a pic yet, but still looking, I just dont know what the "Standard" install is. I saw one that was in the center armrest, I liked that, but that is clearly not where yours is.

I am also curious where people put their aux input plug? Any recommendations?

I thought that the "standard" install place for the E60 was in the glovebox near where the flashlight (torch) is.

Take a look at the .pdf attached to the following post:

Pic of the iDrive screen with aux selected would be good too. Is it just like CD/FM without any of the movable things?(Just SET?)
