ok so i didnt have the logic 7, so i decide to get some aftermarket speakers(focals). i got only replacements for the front and back speakers, not all the speakers. i got an alpine 4 channel amp as well. so now after all the install my car has gotten ill.

randomly when ever im driving my radar restarts, my radio stops play and starts playing again, then my dynamic drive goes out, then my ABS brakes go out, my censor says my brake pads are shot and need replacement, and then it starts to get bad. (i know, your probably thinking how much worse can it get)

then my car starts to stutter then it dies. i try to restart the car but there is no power at all. i cant even put my hazards on. then after about a minute i get the power and the car can start. i dont have power steering but everything else works. then after about a mile the power steering comes back on.

so i took it back to the audio place to check the currents and the power through the stero. they said the cap going over the negative on the battery was loose. and they said that everything seemed fine.

i highly doubt that tightening the cap over the battery is going to fix the problem. the only thing i can think of is that the cut into a wire that screwed it up. other than that i have no idea.

need help and advice

thanks
jeff

Disconnect the cap and the amp to see how it goes. In what key position does the amp on? If the guy tap remote-on signal from OEM amp, your new amp will be on all the time until car go to sleep. This sucks up all energy store from battery while engine is not on or even don't have key inserted. As you know, the car make gong sound even you don't have key inserted. That gong sound coming from audio system which does consume some power there. If you have amp remote-on wire connects to remote-on signal of the OE amp, then game is over.
