The ATV battery retired last night..

sooo, I went through this 'lighten the car' phase a little over a year ago. Did the following:
- Mobility kit (spare tire delete)
- CF Trunk (you'd be surprised how heavy the OEM one is)
- CF Hood (there is hardly a difference in weight with the CF one)
- Replaced OEM exhaust (replaced with lighter system)
- Light weight wheels (went forged)
I did some other 'lighten the car' stuff more recently, but at the time I didn't think itwould hurt to replace the ~60 lb battery as well... ended up putting in a 28 lb battery. It happened to be an ATV battery. I never had the battery registered, so the charging characteristics may have been off, but it cranked my v8 over fine until I tried to start it last night after my car had been sittin for 7 weeks waiting for my wheel to be repaired/rebuilt.
Ended up getting a generic for the time being until I can experiment around with alternatives. Here is the photo of the ATV battery next to the generic OEM replacement:
I know EuroCarFan started a thread on lightweight batteries a couple years ago. There were some pretty neat alternatives. Might try one of those eventually..
Anyways, just figured I'd share in case anybody was curious as to the longevity of such a battery given the surrounding circumstances.
