Thought I would update everyone that has these model cars and let them know that H&R has completed R&D on the suspension kits for the E60 xi series! Wahoo! Per my last post over a month ago, I learned that H&R was developing a kit for this car, but that it was in R&D. TireRack said they had a kit for this from H&R, but after speaking directly to H&R, this was NOT correct and warned people against buying this kit with the X drive system.

I spoke to my contact at H&R yesterday and they just got out of R&D last week and are going into production. My contact at H&R told me to check back in 3-4 weeks, as he will know what containers they will be shipped out in and what distributors will have them for immediate sale.

I also asked what the adjustable ride height would be (Coil-Over Kits) and was told .5" - 1.5". They'll have everything from shocks to springs to coil-over kits to sway bars.

So for all those that want their wheel gap to go away and to have less sway and a stiffer, more sporty ride since we lack ARS, have no fear, help is on the way!

I'll send out a final post on this topic once the product becomes available. Stay tuned...

Well thanks for the update. But wouldn't that harm the extra cardan in front which the 'normal E60's' don't have?

I thought so too, but H&R took this into consideration. I'm sure their R&D department factored this in, when developing the kit. We'll see, once they come out.

wow nice actuallythen x will be better, if no gap. the q is good but H&R are one of the best so do not think so they would harm any BMWs.

Any update on the H&R kit? Will it be available for the 530xi sport wagon (E61).

I contacted my contact at H&R and have yet to hear back. It may be because this is the week for distribution and I'm sure they'r pretty busy. As soon as I get word, I'll post the information (Specs, Cost, Distributors, etc..).

Stay tune...

BTW - For those that don't want to wait, Hamann has a set of lowering springs made specifically for the 525xi and 530xi. Hamann claims they work along side the stock shocks, so you don't burn through them in 12 months or less. Cost is around $800, which seems a bit high and shipments can take up to 6-8 weeks. I am waiting on H&R, but for those that just can't wait, this is an option as well. BavAuto and WheelPower are two places that can get you these springs...

I have a set of 19" Iforged Classic on my xi already and using 245/35/19. When I turn the steering all the way to the side, the front tire is scratching on the fender already. So I'm suspecting if I lower the car, it will be scratching even if I'm not turning all the way.

What's the offset on your wheels? I bet that's the reason why. If you aren't running an offset of ET 38 or higher, your wheels will stick out further and thus me more prone to rubbing. Did you have your iForged custom made with these offsets or the standard offsets of ET 15/ET 20?
