My Ride: E60 550i

Hey everyone! I recently got a 2007 e60 550i.
Unfortunately the original owner didn’t opt for the bigger screen and no Bluetooth…
I saw a few options online bit not sure which would be suitable with my car.
So i would like to install a bigger screen with apple car play, Bluetooth and maybe a reverse camera.
Would appreciate some recommendations, thanks 🙏 Or if more info is needed?

Doable, but not an easy task or cheap. Do a forum search for Android and also CIC. You will need to update your onboard computer to accomplish this.

I upgraded to CIC and got an MMi box and absolutely love it for the wireless CarPlay, I use it 100% of the time I’m driving. I chatted with this guy who found an MMI box that works with the older MASK/CCC so didn’t need to do a CIC upgrade.

bump because I'm also trying to upgrade my 04 interior. I've been spoiled over the years with being able to install a DIN/Apple Car Play so going backwards and just having a radio is hard to deal with while commuting. I know, 1st world problems lol

just get an android unit for your CCC/CIC. They are available on ebay, amazon etc. No point of going thru the upgrade to cic if youre going to be replacing with that unit anyway.

I just learned of another product by Mr12volt last week that I'm kind of following. It is like the box I mentioned earlier but has better sound since it uses MOST instead of the aux-input and they make one for CCC and another for CIC. I haven't read through this whole massive thread yet but some good comments. Sounds like some people have issue with reduced bass, otherwise it sounds much more clear than aux in. Some folks saying they have no sound issues at all.

Hello,
know this company worked before with it. Has another model e90 used the unit 10.25 inches with 8 GB of RAM and 266 Gb.
Find some information for you.
Example of installation SMARTY Trend Head unit in BMW 5 Series E60.
AND some video review on Youtube
