seller: Plus OBD | The most professional Auto Diagnostic Tool Center. but i can reccomand without problem, this is not

advertising i have only buy from this one seller without problem.
I use my icom evereday on e and f with ista or inpa and until now zero problem. For

Hi ealltech,
I believe it is this same company: Plus OBD | The most professional Auto Diagnostic Tool Center.

Guess it should be a good one since quite a few guys here have posted positive
results with the ICOM A2 they have gotten from this company.
I've purchased a couple ICOMs from the guys over at Plusobd and they've not given me any problems whatsoever.Their pricing is fairly reasonable, around $369.99 a unit. Comes with ICOM A2+B+C, USB cable, LAN Cable, 20pin Cable and OBDII extension cable,. No issues with firmware updates and works great on my ISID systems.

With shipping and paypal fees, it was around 460$-465$. I usually talk to Paul over

at Yohotech when I order.

Base price must have gone down for $369 a unit, been a couple months since I ordered

one, but I've yet to have problems with mine. Just reprogrammed my mother's R60 and

dad's R56 JCW this past weekend.

For purchasing cables or an ICOM, you must ensure you get the right ones for your particular car. For example, I am in the United States and have a 2006 BMW 530i with a MOST ring. So I need an ICOM A, or A2, plus an ICOM B to hook up to the MOST ring. I had to learn this the hard way, wasted both money and a lot of time.

I originally purchased a K+DCAN from Amazon ($25.00, mostly works), though it works, it messed up my radio because it was not fast enough. It works for general flashing, coding, and diagnostics. I cannot use it with ISTA-P (ISTA-P starts to read the modules, then suddenly it asks me to hook up closest to the MOST ring, means it is looking for an ICOM B hooked up there), and it barely/does not work with anything on the MOST ring. I chalked this up to being a cheap K+DCAN cable. Not a complete waste, and I have accomplished things with it.

So I purchased an ICOM NEXT clone ($250.00, seller shipped me a replacement, neither unit worked with my car), thinking it would be my salvation. The first one did not work at all, I purchased it on eBay and the seller shipped me a second one. That one would be acknowledged by iTool Radar (both were), EasyConnect would lock it and show voltage, but none of the apps worked at all. (3 weeks wasted on two different units, waiting for the replacement). BMW Standard Tools finds it (shows in INPA), but will not work with any of the apps. ISTA-P would fail on the module reading part and say, "Vehcile Order not found", despite it being written into my CAS and LM. I tried using EasyConnect, manually putting the port and IP in the Edibias.ini and Remote.ini, nothing could make it work with my car. Neither will take updates, the first was a total dud! I tried many different versions of BMW Standard Tools, no dice!

Next, I purchased a Super ICOM Pro N3+ ($250.00), and it is fast, stable, works with all of the apps, and I was excited to finally use my unicorn app, ISTA-P. It actually reads the modules, until it gets to the end and then that same popup as the K+DCAN cable appears, "Missing Hardware, please hook up closest to the MOST bus". Means it is looking for an ICOM-B. So it works well with all apps, including ISTA+, but will not work with ISTA-P for my E60 because there is no MOST bus connector. Defeating the main purpose of me getting it to begin with. It is much faster than my K+DCAN and works with everything except ISTA-P, so not a total loss. But the point is, it's the wrong unit for my car because it will not do everything I need it to do. The fact it works with ISTA+ and not ISTA-P is frustrating, because you cannot use ISTA+ to flash modules with an E60.

Moral of the story, you need a GOOD K+DCAN cable, and/or the correct ICOM for your particular car, or you waste a lot of money and especially time! Or you end up spending money on things that do not work, or only work somewhat/mostly.

The Bimmergeeks Expert K_DCAN cable is the best one I am aware of. If I knew what I did now, I would have purchased the Bimmergeeks cable ($80.00), plus an ICOM A2+ICOM B ($250-420). Now, I am waiting the latter to come from China. I cannot fix my radio without the ICOM B, so if I had purchased the right equipment, I could have saved myself a month of time and literal hours sitting outside in the hot and cold.

For cars with a MOST (fiber optic) line: ICOM A or A2 and an ICOM B
For cars with ENET: ICOM NEXT, ICOM A2. ENET cable should be good enough
For cars with older 20-pin under the hood: ICOM A or A2, Super ICOM Pro N3+

I would avoid the ICOM NEXT unless you have an ENET car, despite the fact it works with an ICOM B and has the older 20-pin adapter as well. Purely based on my experience with my E60. It did not work with my car at all, the second one was sent with the latest firmware (requested by me) and still refused to work with my car.

I am basically trying to help people not make the same mistake I made. This information is hard to come by, too. I have heard stories of people using cheap K+DCAN cables with ISTA-P with MOST rings, In fact, with these cars there is a lot of misinformation and incomplete answers to questions in general.
