If so, why bother? Is a piece of steel better then the other?

Cos you dun mod your car to handle better than stock.

Those of us who are serious in improving our cars to handle better will know how good these H&R swaybars are & what a difference it makes.

Why dun you get a set & try them out??? If you can afford a E60, I'm sure you can afford the swaybars.

My 17 E60 & 3 E63 customers here will be ready to tell you how good they are.

Cheers

Wilson
right on I go with that I have the H&R too and my e60 will sing now

By THAT much?!? So much as to be able to see a difference on a street car which goes on the streets and has behind the wheel most probably an amateur?!? I doubt that a different rod of steel can change the handling to any degreee that can be felt... No offence, just my two cents.
If there is NO different in the rod of steel, then Y do they design 1.
you turn more on the street than on a track, in HK that is.

I agree with the majority here. As reported by many memebers upgrading the anti roll bars is a big gain in handling and one cheap mod too. I myself have a set of them in the garage waiting for an upgrade probably in spring, with a set of sportier springs aswell (yes sportier than M pack springs)
The change is dramatical in handling, because this is just a component of the whole package that determines the handling of a car.

Big ipaq if you have ever driven different E60s like standard non sport to M sport you might have felt the difference in handling. There is a diference i think in shocks, then for sure in springs and most important in anti-roll bars. And if you see realoem.com you'll notice the difference is very little (a few mm). So that means: yes a few mm in thickness will improve the handling. That's just for some of us that want even more from the car.

PS: Does anybody know how thick are the H&R ones?

I got the H&R and the front is about the same thinkness but about 20 time more hever and the back is 2x the thinkness of the OEM 1s and much hever too.

Kinda hard to estimate don't you think?! Depends on various factors. Drive the non sport E60 and then the M pack one to find. Should be the same difference...
