I've got the standard m-sport rims. 18" (uk package - as can been seen here)
If i do get it done, it will be the whole rim.

I've only seen a couple of silver/alloy rims which were painted completely black, and in both cases the rims looked smaller. I have the 18" M135s on mine in winter and would not want them to look any smaller. As they are, I would say they are the minimum "good fit" for the m-sport pack, any smaller looking would be a no-go IMHO.

I think the idea's good, but maybe not on that (size of) rim. Maybe someone can do a photo-shop for you if you post a good side picture of your ride??

when you say powder coating, what do you mean?
Im really starting to think that carbon black alloys would look really good, but i have no idea what paint type to use.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Powder_coating

basically, the color is "baked" into the wheel, creating a finish that is more durable than paint. paint will chip/scratch when rocks/debris hit your wheels, but that won't happen if you powdercoat. however, powdercoating is more expensive, and some ppl argue that certain alloy wheels (perhaps some forged aluminum rims) should not be exposed to the high temps of the baking process, as it can theoretically make the alloy more brittle. i've never heard of a wheel breaking apart due to powdercoating or anything like that, though.

powdercoating is very popular in america and here's some fyi discussions
