My Ride: 2004 BMW 645 black sapphire metallic, 19" Style 166 (245/40 & 285/35 w 15mm spacers)
Default

Planning to fit 285/35/19 on Style 128 wheels to my factory M-Sport package 525. I suppose I have to use 5 or 7 mm spacers as offset for rear wheels is 32. Front would be 245/40/19. I suppose front should not rub but not so sure about rears.

I am running on 285x35x19 but on 19'' oem M5 rims (166) without any problem at all even when i am fully loaded. The car though isn't lowered, just with the normal suspension and springs from factory. Look at my gallery garage
I have a 28 rear offset.

Front tyre dimension is also like the M5 since i have changed fenders and front bumber 255x40x19.
Even though when i was with normal fenders i did't have any rubbing problems at all.

I have a euro spec 525i msport and running on 285/35/19 on stock M5 mags. No problem. I also extracted the air and loaded nitrogen on my tires which improved the handling a lot because of maintained rated pressure at any temperature (characteristic of Nitrogen). Hope this helps...

I used a set of 15mm spacers in the rear when I had my 128s and ran 275/35/19 for rear tires.

I know that Style 166 with 285/35 and 245/40 will not rub but due to the difference in offset of Style 128 (12 vs 18 and 28 vs 32) I'm not sure that 245/40 and 285/35 will not rub the inner side of the tire without using any spacers (it must be pretty close to the shocks). Please, can anyone confirm?

Thanks

Further to our PMs, my 128s have 275 at the rear and that is the FACTORY STANDARD set-up, i.e. as BMW supplies from the Parts & Accessories catalogue. I'm not sure how much tolerance BMW would include between the inner side of the rim/tyre and the car itself, but only 10mm doesn't sound like much for a manufacturer sorry, not very scientific, but maybe helps!

I will be having my 128s mounted in a 2-3 weeks time, so could have BMW check the space when they do it. Just let me know if the timing works for you.

p.s. I saw your other post about the 125s. IMHO, nice, but not in the same league as the 128s!
