Anyone remove the slats in the lower front

Looking at the photos of the new M5 which has these big air scoops. The standard E60 has these horizontal slats in the lower front spoiler, has anyone removed them to visually openup the appearance?

When I installed my M-Kit the very first step I had to do was remove those pieces. I don't think it looks good though. Is this what you mean?:

Great shot. Yes that is what I meant. I thought the two side horizontal fins were separate from the rest of it, similar to the center. You are right it doesn't look good on the two sides but I like the center opening look.

I removed the center piece, it is nice that it just snaps out. Not a big improvement since in NY we need a front license plate which blocks the opening a bit, but I can always snap it back in.

I've seen Zag's ride and his come off quite easily. Great for cleaning the insides without much obstruction.
