Have you always had the issue with the cables rights from the start? Don't think so otherwise you would have mentioned it to me. It may or may not have something to do with the cable because we know that even without the cable sometime the car's error handling can play up.
One thing you can try on your right hand side is : On the plug with the 6 pins, swap pin 4 and pin 6 (pin 1 is the one with the Brown wire). Tell me how you get on.

Never had any problems with my cables, work great.
Maybe your bulb is on the way out? Have you tried replacing them?

Ok here goes a step by step method to swap the wires I spoke about earlier to see if it will help you. Doing it via the forum just incase anyone else ever has to do this again.
This swap is done on the plug with 6 pins on the car harness side.
![Anyone with LCI taillights w/ Bruce's cable get taillight out?-dsc00205.jpg](https://5series.net/forums/attachments/e60-e61-parts-accessories-mods-22/54249d1482364412t-anyone-lci-taillights-w-bruces-cable-get-taillight-out-dsc00205.jpg)
Use a small screwdriver or similar device to lift the flap.
![Anyone with LCI taillights w/ Bruce's cable get taillight out?-dsc00206.jpg](https://5series.net/forums/attachments/e60-e61-parts-accessories-mods-22/54250d1482364412t-anyone-lci-taillights-w-bruces-cable-get-taillight-out-dsc00206.jpg)
![Anyone with LCI taillights w/ Bruce's cable get taillight out?-dsc00207.jpg](https://5series.net/forums/attachments/e60-e61-parts-accessories-mods-22/54251d1482364412t-anyone-lci-taillights-w-bruces-cable-get-taillight-out-dsc00207.jpg)
Then push the small screwdriver into the square hole on the plug slighty to release the catch for the pin and pull on the wire slowly. This will release the pin from the first catch.
![Anyone with LCI taillights w/ Bruce's cable get taillight out?-dsc00208.jpg](https://5series.net/forums/attachments/e60-e61-parts-accessories-mods-22/54252d1482364412t-anyone-lci-taillights-w-bruces-cable-get-taillight-out-dsc00208.jpg)
Do exactly the same for the catch but this time below the square hole. This time when you pull the wire it should make the pin come out of the plug.
Do this for pins 4 and pin 6. Note : Pin 1 is the one with the thick brown wire attached to it.
![Anyone with LCI taillights w/ Bruce's cable get taillight out?-dsc00209.jpg](https://5series.net/forums/attachments/e60-e61-parts-accessories-mods-22/54253d1482364412t-anyone-lci-taillights-w-bruces-cable-get-taillight-out-dsc00209.jpg)
Swap the positions of these pins.

When you are putting the pins back simply push them into the holes and you will hear two faint clicks.
Push the flap back down to lock all the pins into the plug.
This swap is done on the plug with 6 pins on the car harness side.
