I don't know how well you'll be able to fit 22"s on your ride, I can understand fitting them on a 7 series because its a bigger car. I currently have 20"s and I am running 255/25/20 in front and 285/20/20 in rear, those tires are really really low profile. I can't imagine what it'll be like riding on 22"s and I am pretty certain that you won't be able to fit 22" rims with 245/35/22 tires on your e60, you'll definitely have rubbing issues. If you must have 22"s on your e60, then I think you're going to have to go with lower profile tires, which I wouldn't recommend. My rims recently got all bent up and I blew my tires because of a huge pothole, but it wasn't the first time my tire blew out. They were just too low profile for daily driving use, thats why I'm going to replace them with 255/35/20 in front and 285/30/20 in rear, but i might have some rubbing issues; and I'm riding on 20" rims.

I know the higher you go up in size i.e. 19, 20, or 21, the rougher the ride you get, and also your out to damage you BMW wheel by hitting pot holes in the road! (Less tire, more wheel and with No Tire Cushion! But the larger wheels do look cool!)

For me and all my Replica wheel problem from "THE WHEEL EXCHANGE" I am staying with 18 inch OEM BMW Wheels

Yea 255/25/20 is SUPER low profile so you are likely to get bent or blow a tire =/

Im sure if you can fit 255/35/20 and that clears then you can fit 245/30/22

There is a difference of only .8 inches from 245/30/22 and your upcomming 255/35/20. Hopefully I can gain clearance of only .8 inch.

Yea 255/25/20 is SUPER low profile so you are likely to get bent or blow a tire =/

I agree with Ray Presley 100%. Granted the 20" wheels are much sharper. The ride will suffer and the streets here in NY would be murder for such a large set of wheels. I'm sticking with the stock 18's on my ride. Good luck!!

The lowest 22" tire combination I could find is a 295/25R22 rear fitment and 245/30R22 front fitment. These tires will NOT fit a 7x22" wheel. Minimum wheel width would be 9" front and 10.5" rear.
Compared to a 245/40R18 tire the 22" combination one is 8,1% higher.
This means acceleration will suffer noticeably and your speedo will be way off.
It is normally recommended to stay within the +/- 3% range.

The height of the 18" wheel and tire is 653,2mm.
The height of the 22" wheel and tire is 706,3mm (705,8mm front). So that's more than 2 inches higher! I doubt very much whether you will get this to fit especially with a 295 wide tire in the rear.
With 20" wheels you already have to be careful to choose the right offset to avoid rubbing problems.

I am thinking of getting the 21" Hartge wheels but that will involve some serious fender rolling etc.

The comments that are made about the ride are partially true. A 22" 25 series tire will actually have more rubber than a 20" 25 series tire but because the 22" wheel will certainly be heavier you will lose ride comfort.

If you read what I wrote I said 22x7 ALL AROUND using a 245/30/22

According to those widths and diameters of the tires it should work and if it doesnt clear I would be off by only .8 to 1inch.

Me personally, I like to be different. Every single rim I see on a BMW lately resembles a HRE wheel. Why pay 5k for something that looks like a dime a dozen?
