Anyone else hear a humming sound
#1
Just had my PS2's fitted this afternoon. 275/30 @ rear & 245/35 @ front.
The ride is great. Much better than the 18" Dunlop runflats.
I just have one concern...
At low speeds 20 to 70km/hr I can hear a low humming/whining sound. This dissappears at higher speed.
Could this be because the tyres are not worn in yet?
I know there are a lot of you out there with the same tyres, so any info that will help me to not have a sleepless night tonight will be appreciated.
Thanks
edit - I did check the tyre pressures. They are correct.

You shure the wheels are on properly with the correct bolts ?
You not using your spacers anymore ?
Check the tires are correctly on the wheels, they are marked OUTSIDE on the one side
Maybe you just need to go for a nice long drive

Please test them without the spacers, remember you are now running a wider wheel at the back than you used to and it may be touching something slightly
A quick drive without the spacers and the correct bolts for without spacers should confirm

Now that the traffic should be better, I am going to do a quick freeway run.

Spacers should not cause this problem (although they may cause other issues though ...)
He did go from a 8,5J rim to a 9.5J rim ( its not just new tires but new 19" wheels )
Im thinking with the spacer he may be rubbing somewhere.
Ive seen this before on other cars where the spacers are too big for the particu;ar wheel
Hmm, if there was rubbing from the spacers I would imagine the shimmy-ing sound would actually increase at higher speeds (and not be present only at low speeds).
Just a thought.
