Very true, I really want new wheels but don't want to sacrifice the comfortablity. I was riding on 245/35/19 last summer...but I found the ride too firm(I felt every crack, manhole cover and pothole. Besides that, IMO that fender grill is the dopest mod for an e60. Why's it still okay to swap M bumpers, side shirts, mirrors and steering wheelsTo each their own I guess.

Thanks fellas. I'm going to giv it a try again this week. Tried last week but just didn't feel comfortable. I borrowed a dremel 4000. Hoping this would cut it nicely

Dremel will also work just go slow and use the tape to protect the finish. Don't forget to measure several times and trace out the area you are removing, otherwise you will end up with it not being straight. I strongly recommend to create your own template from a piece of firm poster board. Maybe something 1/16 - 1/8 thick and then snap your grills into this. If you have a template from the grill mfg, ,more than likely it's not accurate.

There was a vertical rib contacting the grill, I just can't remember exactly how much. I actually trimmed away some of the grill that was making contact. Depending on your placement the rib will obviously be slightly in a different location. DO NOT use cutters to remove the fender material or you will probably end up with a rippled surface like dents. Go to Staples and get a large piece of firm plastic coated paper to simulate the cutout. Trace your template on this material and cut it out. Fit the grill ensuring its correct fitment. Adjust and or make another cutout if needed. Pat attention to the locks on the grill holder and that you are getting the correct amount of engagement. The material is pretty bad with lit to no glass in it, so these locks will break easily. Once you are satisfied with the cutout, transfer this to you car. Flip it over for the other fender.
