Yup. That's the new idrive. The 3 series got it earlier than the 5 series.

Can you post some pictures of what a nighttime camera picture looks like and what the license plate lights look like at night?

Thanks.

Do you offer just the camera for those like myself who already have nav[tv interface?<div align='center'></div> I've been looking for a rear camera that's bolt-on for the longest that doesn't cost an arm and a leg.

Thanks

The price of the kit is $485 + shipping. It will include everything you need to make rear camera work. Any car-audio shop will be able to install the kit on your car. I will do my best to include DIY guide for the 5-series. For now I have DIY only for E90/E92.

Thanks.
doba, can you let us know when you have tested the kit on an 2004/05 car?

thanks

Yes, you can purchase just the camera by itself. PM me for details.

Thanks.

I am looking for a local test car, so if anybody is willing to spend some time installing the kit, please let me know ( PM me) and you will be rewarded for doing that.

We installed it on the 2008 BMW M3 this week ( with old iDrive) and it works perfect. I would really like to test in on 5-series.

Thanks.

I can come by and we can install it on my 2006 530i, if you can help with the install. it is a July 05 build 530i. My signatures will tell you all about my car.
I live in Livermore and as you mentioned before, I can come to San Ramon (I work in Dublin).

Can we do the install next week though (Or week after), I have ordered the spec.doc for my dension500 which I'm using for quiet some time. now.

Few questions:

Does it require any kind of software update or change to be able to make the video and the camera work. I do have the dension working fine now for the usb and ipod music.

Let me know.
thanks
