Anticipation On Approach - New BMW Product

As described in the teaser "USB connection, MP3 player, DVD/CD drive, Bluetooth interface, LCD colour display with 65,000 colours, Voice recognition, High processor performance, Low energy consumption, Recharges itself"
To be released mid-January 2007.
Anybody have any insider info as to what this is? It looks like a portable multimedia interface that fits into the front map lights based on pic 1 & 3. Other than that, I don't see how it can work with pre-existing cars. This looks like a very interesting product, if the BMW community gets behind it, the modding capabilities of the device may be huge.
