Hi guys!
A week ago I wrote to VF to ask if they have already released the supercharge kit for 545i .

Their answer :

---------
Hello Alex,
Thank you for your interest in our Supercharger Systems. As you may be
aware the E60 545 Stage 1 Supercharger system is in development. We
currently have a E60 545 inhouse that we are using for long-term testing and
R&D. Pricing will be determined by the hardware included and time to develop
the system.

We are estimating a 40% increase over stock horsepower and are very excited
to work with this engine to see what power it will yield. I will save your
info and add you to our mailing list for any new updates my R&D give me. You
are always welcome to check the progress via our website,
www.bimmerforums.com, www.e46fanatics.com, etc.

Feel free to contact me at your convenience if you have any questions or
concerns.
-------------

40% ... From 333 to 470 HP .
Only 105 HP/lt, like the stock CooperS .
Thus I guess the kit doesn't affect reliability .
But it will be Stage1 ... In the future there will be a stage2 ?

Now I have replied at the mail asking WHEN it will be released .

I have a friend that works over at VF and I stopped by the shop last week to check it out. There was a lot of nice cars being worked on, I believe there was about 4 M3's getting super chargers installed. He showed me around the shop, which is very nice BTW, and he educated me about the SC kit for both the 545 and the 550.

It should be released any day now, and for the 550's it should be close to 500 HP with the kit on.

I can't wait

Ask to your friend if there will be a stage2 .

PS :
550i "close to 500 HP" : 500 or 470 HP is similar

sure $9999.99 LOL.. I bet the kit will run anywhere from 5-8k.. then depending where ur getting it installed.. you looking at 10k for a total supercharger installed

as far as gains 150hp is about right.. the M3's they do usually run about 480 somehting in hp.. I was hopeing the 550 would break more then 500hp though.. guess we will ahve to wait to see Stage 2 however I wanna see the S/C for the M5... im guessing somehwere around 650-700hp... god I wish i had money lol

well the sunnyside up view of that price (between 4 and 8K) is that if you get a loaded 550 and add the S/C your still WELL below the cost of an M5 even after modding it with M equipment....I know, I know, it still wont be an M5; however, after that S/C mod, Id be happy to race one!
