I may be in the minority, but I don't like the way my bamboo anthracite trim looks with my black interior. There's just not enough contrast. So I'm considering going to aluminum, which I think will look great. (That's what I had on my beloved but deceased E46, and it looked great!) However, the aluminum trim kits I can find are like $1200. (Are they kidding?) Does anyone know where I can find aluminum trim kits at a reasonable price. Also, any idea what I should ask when selling my bamboo anthracite? It's in excellent condition, but does have one small scratch by the shift console.

why not just DIY it and repaint the trim yourself?

here's what member andy545i did: http://forums.5serie...post__p__541936

regarding an asking price for your trim, you can check getbmwparts.com and/or realoem.com to see what the BNIB cost is and go from there...

Holy crap, I somehow missed that thread before. The first link is freaking beautiful, much better looking than CF wrap.

Wow, cool! Exactly what I'm looking for. The one thing I don't see in the thread is what kind of paint I'd use? It would obviously need to be something pretty durable. Any thoughts?

Not an actual DIY, but vinyling the trim is included in this thread.
The vinyl is 'Brushed Aluminium' by Foliatec.
