I see these all over ebay, but my questions are:

1) I understand that they are drilled in. Any instructions, pointers, or advice on how to do this?

2) Any suggestions on what brand/kind to get? Anyone I should stay away from? Thanks!

I've heard some ppl just use double side 3M tape and it works. That's another option. I guess the AC Style ones aren't bad. I would like to get one with the footrest and that's about $75 on eBay for the footrest with auto pedals.

I have the ACS reps that I got on Ebay, and they are awesome. Here is a link to the same seller's current auction: ACS Pedal Kit (note that in the auction, you can't read anything on the pedals, but the ones that they send say AC Schnitzer on them)

They came very quickly, and cost less than $40 shipped. Great price and service.

Re: drilling, they are fairly easy to install. I do recommend drilling them, because they have the visible bolts on all four corners, and if you glued them on, you wouldn't be able to use those (you would have empty bolt holes on the pedals).

To install them, I just lined them up, used a nail to scratch the underlying pedal to mark it for drilling, and then put a wood block behind the pedal to hold it while I drilled it. It took me about an hour to install all three. The brake pedal is the most difficult becuase it is metal and harder to drill through. The others are plastic and easy to drill. It can be a major pain, however, to try to thread on the little washer and nut behind the pedal when y you are putting the bolts in. It's a great mod, however, and looks very sporty.

There is only one company out there that makes full pedal kits for our cars. The gas, brake, and clutch is fairly universal but the dead pedals of the cars vary. Most kits out there use an E46 dead pedal that is too small for our cars. MRTM makes kits with the correct dead pedal for the E60, and all the other newer cars as well. I just think it looks unfinished not to have the dead pedal match but it would look even worse to have a dead pedal just slapped on that does not fit right. I believe that these sets go for about $299.99 including dead pedal. The auto/ smg kits might be less as well.

I like the OEM aluminum pedal look with M dead pedal. Just ordered mine over the weekend and will post results.
