Default Airbag module questions

Hi, i have an e61 530d with a strage problem, an orange airbag light, with a obd2 tool and a scan it tells me that its a airbag satellite issue in the left and right b pillar, we changed and programmed and checked these but the fault remained, and we have checked everything except the main airbag module, min has the part no. 6975687 (according to the computer), ive looked everywhere for this part but i cannot find it, is there any other module that can be used instead of this 6975687? Ive found 6975686, does that fit? Really grinds my gears this issue and would like to have it solved

The satellites are not the issue. You need to find the real issue. Start in the trunk at the battery. If you change modules you'll have to code and program timing. Unless there water damage start looking elsewhere. Also check to see if the battery is good.

I just went through the same thing a month ago and it was an issue with the cable coming from my positive post. Started it down with electrical cleaner and it was fixed.

There was the typical water damage with the modules in the trunk, changed and programmed all of those, then the orange airbag light came up, and weve checked the satellites and all, dont know why the plus connector on the battery would cause the issue

If you look at you positive side you will see a 2 wire plug. That has everything to do with the SRS system but now that I know the module had been changed which one was actually changed. Some modules are on the timing schedule and if replace the timing has to be set.

the modules that were changed were all of the trunk modules, and they have been programmed, but those were the only ones that got changed

Do you know what they controlled or was called. Not everyone has the same modules in the trunk. Also programming and setting time is 2 different things.

i Actually dont know, it was the last owner, the car overcharged and broke the generator, the start motor and all the modules in the trunk becuase of the water damage, but i had it at a tuning shop who speciallizes in bmws and he had no clue what was wrong, he tried a lot of things but couldnt get rid of the orange light

Did they give you a print out of the codes. How do they specialize in BMWs and can't figure it out. You may have another bad module or a module that was not programmed correctly. You can't figure it out without the codes.
