thanks for the heads up.

I'm also looking at these: http://www.focuztech.com/helix-aer-air-sus...-2004-2007.html

geez...isnt there something with a name like bilstein, H&R, Vogtland? I dont wanna put some made in nowhereland and have it break while i drive through these "smooth" NYC roads.
why it says 2004-2007? so LCI model got different suspension setup?
if i go with KW v3, why not air suspension if it is better?

i saw a japanese car long time ago with air suspension, and that guy just parked his car in the parking lot jumping his car up and down, yes up and down, haha
didnt know they make it for bmw

if it is reliable, john do it, i will follow if i find one for LCI model, cheaper than kw v3 anyway

Good call to find an air suspension where you can raise the ride height. Having seen your car in person yesterday it is a stunner and belongs in car shows and magazines -- but it don't survive long on NYC roads without the ride height being raised.

But isn't Air Ride Technologies the best system out there? They have track days all the time. Look into them instead, I've never heard of these guys
The make good kits, but I wouldnt cal them the best. You can build a better setup from putting together some parts from this guy, and other parts from that guy.

Airbagit.com have a very bad rep here in the UK, alot of companies import there stuff as it's cheaper than the UK manufacturers, but it does get rated very poorly.
The guy who installed my air ride has fixed so many messed up abi.com kits!

Just a heads up from across the pond
They have a bad rap over here also.

There is a truck forum that has a huge thread about people bashing this company and its parts.

I found the link.

I have had a air ride kit on my other car for 2 years now without any problems. Reliable, super customer service. www.easystreetair.com one of the better companies out there. Not sure if they have a e60 kit.

But a few things, if you drive your car hard, air ride is NOT the way to go. Soft, bouncey, loud is how I can describe it. Defiantly not good for daily driving. Say good bye to cornering, and spirited driving. I would NEVER do a air ride kit on a car again. Coilovers ftw. In some cars, air ride is a beautiful thing, (eg, benz, caddy) and SOME after market applications, that also have springs or other cushioning of some sort. Replacing the shock/springs say in the e60, with "air struts" results in a very ROUGH ride.

This is a definite no no. I had bags on my 98 navigator back in the day. What a disaster. The look was crazy with 22's tucked. (I saw Shaq's and I thought I was cool at the time, leave me alone ) The ride is horrible it feels like you're riding on a bouncing float in a swimming pool with 0 road feel and 0 turning. I sold the car after 2 months of having the setup. You have to constantly worry about blown bags, broken fittings, slow leaks, battery drain from the compressor. Plus if you replace your struts with air if you have a problem your car will be stuck literally on the floor and can't even be towed without destroying your kit. You'll have to find someone who can do road service on the system anytime it goes down. You'll end up with a trailer queen show car that is undrivable. Hopefully the 20's will help with the ride height. Maybe coilovers? Wish I had a better solution.
