I've got a crack in the windshield of my Toyota Sequoia. What are the pros and cons of getting an aftermarket windshield replacement versus an OE product that cost more? Thanks for your input. Likewise, this question can also be applied to a BMW OE windshield.

Get a PPG winshield and you'll be ready to go. Only con will be no toyota logo and make sure the place is a certified installer. A 5 series winshield is about 600+ from PPG the BMW 1800. All the sensors and heat do dads plus rear view jack the price.

I replaced the windshield on my E46 two years ago. I too went through the process of trying to determine if the OE BMW windshield would be worth the extra dollars. All of the windshield shops discouraged getting the BMW windshield because they would have to order it. I ended up getting one that was 'comparable'. Well, the glass looked fine but the outer trim and drip seal surrounding the glass was very different, didn't fit as well and had very noticeable gaps. My advice would be to pay the extra dollars and get the OEM glass and trim if you're the obsessive type like me. BTW, their comment was the classic 'no one will ever notice it'...I did every time I approached the vehicle.
