I just got my windows tinted about a week ago. This is the first vehicle I've owned that has had aftermarket tint installed.

For any light shining through the rear window at night including car headlights, I get this strange effect where I see horizontal stripes of light from the bottom of the window to the top where the heating elements are.

Is this really normal?

I asked someone at work and she didn't think so, but after she checked her car she sees it too. She just really didn't notice since she has always had her cars tinted and apparently she has just gotten used to it.

It looks fine during the day. It is just at night where I get this strange effect.

My tint (which was a factory option) does the same thing..... in fact it is worse than my last E60 that had aftermarket tint installed!

it'll go away once the liquid they used to apply it dries.

+1 I've tinted every car I've owned and never noticed it. Wait for the liquid to dry and set the tint on or the tint was applied on wrong.
