Hallo, I am new to this forum and BMW-s too
Just bought the 525 SE auto 2004, fantastic car by the way!
I tried searching for the answer in google and in this forum, and did not find any answers, so please excuse me if this is a repeat!
I have a question about the independent heating: my car has the independent ventilation option, which basically can start cooling the car at a preset hour. I see from the manual the independent heating was also available as a factory option, but for some strange reason the person (UK model) took the ventilation but not the heating. Does anyone know how it works? I mean what is the difference technically, is there a special module needed to be added to the car for the heating, or it is just a idrive menu add on?
The car has the standard electrically controlled (but manually folded) mirrors, how about the reverse mirror tilt? What it takes to retrofit that if at all possible?
Another quite possibly stupid question from a novice: when I am refueling the car (only twice up to now) the fuel gun keeps clicking if it is fully inserted - never happened to me on other cars. Does BMW has a specifically narrow throat for the fuel tank so that it gets flooded if the jet is too fast?
Thank you very much for the answers,
M-Leon

Well, for the reverse mirror tilt... The selector switch that allows you to choose which mirror you are going to adjust has to be set to the drivers side when you put the vehicle in reverse(If you have this option it will work). The gas problem has never happened to me so I really don't think it is how narrow the fuel tank throat is.
Other than that, welcome, enjoy, drive...

Thanks for the answer and the welcome!
Maybe it is just my hands are shaking form the prospect of fuel prices going up
It would be interesting to know if anybody in UK has Independent heating. Maybe there is a law in UK which says the vehicle cannot be running while it is parked, there is one like that in Austria...
I have checked for reversing in both positions of the knob, no tilting
Does anybody know if it is a special part that has to be installed or it can be done by programing ?
Thanks again for the advice and worm welcome!
