After market DVD players
We are taking the car down to Spain on our hols this year and a DVD palyer would help keep my three girls amused during the long drive.
I'm considering either the Nextbase tablet player or the roof mounted Autovison unit - the one in the E60 brochure. Does anyone have any experience of these?

Phil,
I was seriously considering the nextbase tablet DVD and did a lot of research on the internet. I was all ready to buy but first had a demo at my local Dixons ( not intending to buy from Dixons as ?100 cheaper on internet ) but very dissapointed in the picture quality. I think I will wait until the 7" Panasonic drops to same price as 5" model i.e. approx ?220.

I was quoted 3000 euros for the one in the E60 book as a dealer installed option. Granted it would be bolted to the car and covered by the new car warranty but for half that you could by a beater laptop with a bigger display. And at the end of the drive you can take it in with the kids

I bought one from my dealer. It's a portable what can be use on 12V, 220V or with a battery. It has a remote, can play almost any format, has an optical digi out for use on home cinema dolby receivers and can be used on the sunblind, the headrests or standing alone.
This is it!
It works perfect and cost me 700,- Euro.

Here's my take
for the cash, I reckon the nextbase is pretty good,
there is a brodit bracket that will mount it on the central console so all in the back can see it,
I got one with all the extras/battery etc for under 200 quid on ebay.
The ability to take it in to the hotel/etc is a real bonus.

I should have asked you before buying mine.
Thank you all for your replies.
DD, I agree the Nextbase seems really good value - I'll probably go for it along with the Brodit mount.
I reckon we'll cover between 3500 and 4000 miles in approx 3 weeks - it will come in handy.
Now, if only we had those power sockets in the back...
Phil.
