Looks & sounds great but ahh.......where does the 'cold air' from, is there something that directs the outside air into the box?

I finally had my AFE CAI installed this morning. I went ahead with the High Performance, Blue Filter, even though there was talk of the oil causing build up on the MAF sensor.

All I can say is WOW! It's a shame the car doesn't come this way to begin with. It's hands down ANOTHER great addition to the peformance of the car. The car pulls better, breathes better and it sounds AMAZING!

I've attached some pix and a video clip. However, I might do a clip on the outside of the car. Not sure if this video does it justice.

Let me know what you think.

Obviously, I agree. Great job! I need to post a video clip of how it sounds on a V-8. It's been really cool in the SGV canyons lately at night and my car driving down NY Drive is an absolute M-5 comparable beast.

BTW..I'm going to do 3 Dyno runs by Nov 20th with Speed Innovations in Van Nuys, CA. I will let you guys know the results as soon as I know.

Question for VT and ECF---Collins at D2tecknik told me sometimes after installing a CAI, you need to tinker/reconfigure the Re-Map to take advantage of the CAI. He said after I do the Dyno, he'll take a look at it. Is there some validity to that belief?

Is a drop-in K&N filter inferior to this type of setup.....and if so, why.
Intakes are installed more for sound then anything else. You will make a few HP at higher revs but nothing dramatic of noticeable. A K&N drop in will do about the same for HP without the sound.
