Vegas as in Joe or Vegas as in the town? Hahahaha! Because, spending time with either can set you back some cash. Although, I gotta admit. I love hanging out with both.
But i also saw VegasTrashed and HollywoodTrashed.

My car (04 545i w/steptronic) was at Center BMW in Van Nuys last week for the same issue.
The 'Good' News:
I was initially told it was due to a loose or faulty gas cap. If you've received gas cap warnings, the car will eventually throw an emissions-related trouble code (the dreaded Check Engine light). Tightening the cap and clearing the code should clear the problem.
The 'Bad' News:
Further 'troubleshooting' by the tech revealed a stuck thermostat and a dire warning from my service advisor that if I didn't suffer the 3 hour expected wait for the repair, the problem will be logged and should a related engine failure occur, it wouldn't be covered as I ignored the warning. So I stayed and waited until repair completion (I had an event to attend and NEEDED my car). Thermostat replaced under warranty - but now I have a nice lil thunk when shifting from 2 to 1 on deceleration
