Well , let me first say Thank you the crew at Trinity , as always very professional , awesome deals, quick to answer any questions, I wish more venders were like them.
Any how, I have installed CAI's on e30's , Scubie's, R32's, 944's, even Tanks ( W124 platform E class... lol) I've see and worked with several different types of intakes , and Hands down this one is BY FAR the most professionally Designed and manufactured one I have ever seen. THe Materials are like BMW made them themselves, and so is the fit and finish of it.
One suggestion is that to tie s long string on the end of your tools if you are going to install it yourself. If you drop them you then will have to deal with taking the Air management tray off the bottom ( not hard 6 large Phillips heads and 2 14mm bolts, but my fat ass had to put the car up on ramps to get under it).
The only tricky part of the whole install is putting the grommet around the new tray . there are two 90deg angels you have to contend with and the clamps on the inside of the strip are not really keen on bending 90"
Other than that it was a snap. THe instructions it come with are spot on , Only wish the picts were bigger and in color. I had Some weird tube left over ( like black drinking straw that came with the parts.) And it does not go any place...
Any how , I was kinda surprised , little to no turbo noise , that is till around 5k then you can hear the whistling a bit. Lets just say that my car in sport mode is some what ridiculous and I did not realize how fast the car could go in 3rd gear.... just illegal, I still had 2-2.5 k to work with and backed off do to the speed. Then there are 3 more gears left.....
No clue on fuel econ differences , or really can't tell about the power differences yet..
Thx Trinity ...

Alex
SPAM... what ever... it's called a "CHEAP POP" if you know any thing about wrestling....
also why does it matter you you with a 545....
I did not think they even have N54 equipped E60's in Italy?
Any how
After driving a bunch on the highways and biways...
The car is defiantly much freer on down shift kick downs. It also seems much freer to spool up ( kinda seem like some thing was holding it back maybe I have the v 29.2 software). In normal tooling around I have about a 1-2 mpg pick up on mileage around town so like 20-21mpg vs 18-19 I had been getting. I have not really done enough highway driving to tell a difference yet. I already get Awesome Highway millage as it is so I will hold out judgment till I can get a tank load or two threw it.

Alex - You really are such a douche bag. Spam 1, Spam 2? Are you kidding? How about you donate some money to this forum and become a Contributor first, before you go bashing others.
And for those that don't know, Alex doesn't own that 545 on his sig. It's his dads. His actual car is the Mini. Hahahaha!

On a serious note, thats pretty surprising to hear that there is very little turbo noise. With my Logic intake it's ridiculous how loud the spooling of the turbo is, right when you step on it no matter what RPM, it whistles like crazy.. or maybe that's just the BOV?!?!?
