Thumbs up

Was wondering if anyone has had any experience using their intake during the winter. I am always worried about water shooting up that intake hole on my m tech bumper which when followed ends right up into the afe filter. I live in canada where my car is abused due to the enormous amount of snow. Im not exadurating when I tell you that the snow on my street is so high it comes over the front hood to the front windsheild. Basicly im the snowplow for my street. So, do I need to remove this? Will the air be too cold for my engine?

The OEM airbox uses the same "intake hole" you mentioned. You will be fine.

I completly forgot about the fact that the OEM box uses the same tube. ...Which I broke trying to remove. But all in all it got out. I also wanted to buy a hamann stlyle front splitter but someone told me I would be an idiot and it would get completly broken in the winter if not scratched up by the time summer arrives. Anyone agree?

.....About the splitter not me being an idiot

It gets pretty cold where I'm from and I have actually seen some people with intake on in the winter and having there throttle bodies freeze up. That being said I always left mine on on my e46 and no issues. Some guys here suggest just covering up some of the holes in the intake away that would normally have cold air rushing in.
