AFE Filter

My Ride: 05 545i Sport, Man, Cold WX Pkg, Black Sapphire Met on Black
Just received new AFE filter for 05 545 that says it's good for all 4.4L engines, but it's a completely different shape....Have not tried the install yet, but can't imagine that it will work as it should. Guys at AFE claim that it will. Anyone have experience with this?

Their website doesn't even mention e60 525i, 530i, 545i, 550i, nor M5. They just want to sell you the filter and have you shoehorn it in. I wouldn't do it.
