Did anyone else install an AFE cold air intake system and discover that it made no difference on horsepower and no difference on MPG? All it does is make noise in the 3,000-6,000 RPM range. Waste of $329. I live in Colorado in the mountains where there is less oxygen in the air and was hoping for an increase in something other than noise.

I can't believe that these threads still pop up, please people research the forum before you buy your mods. This topic of AFE intakes has been beaten too death, a simple search on here before you made your purchase would have told you not to buy it.

That being said, yes lots of guys on here in the past had tried the AFE intakes and discovered that they actually rob horse power from your car. Dyno's have showed that you lose power using the AFE, sorry you had to learn this the hard way.

Lesson learned the hard way. On the bright side you might be able to put it on ebay or craigslist and find someone who wants the sound and is willing to pay what you did or clost to it.

Unfortunately I made a mistake when I succumbed to the false advertising and claims of AFE and what it would do for my vehicle. But it was not permanent, like a tattoo, and I was able to quickly reinstall the original air intake system. Yes it was a lesson learned about fraudulent advertising. But the $329 mistake was minuscule compared to the greatest fraud ever on the USA.
