I had mine since they first came out for the n54's.
I I already returned it to get a refund. Get a sprint booster instead...

anything less than 5 HP gain isn't worth it IMO. +1 on the sprintbooster!

there is a video M5 with AFE vs M5 Stock..... the one with AFE won..... This is REAL RUN in REAL WORLD.

Some says on Dyno AFE losses HP... it should be..... but it is not a REAL RUN.

These guys happened to be my friends and it's true that the stock m5 driver can't drive as well, but the only mods on the other 08 M5 was AFE CAI and Eiesenmann exhaust. This was also filmed in colder weather, so afe performed a little better.

anyone have that filter? is it better than the afe 1?
I would get the afe because it looks sweet and sounds loud but I dont want any loss in hp.

I had mine taken off my '06 M5 yesterday and had it replaced with the stock intakes, BMC filters and the RPI scoops. This combo has proven performance on the road and on the dyno. I have a stock baseline and another set of dyno runs with the AFE (Stg 2), with the EvoSport pulley and the Meisterschaft exhaust with only a total 9 HP GAIN..... Now that I have the AFE gone, I can feel the difference. As a disclaimer though, it was 90 degrees in SoCal today so this is a warm weather comment for sure.
I will relay the dyno results next week when I get some runs with the new set up.... Personally AFE ought to be giving them away at the rate they are being returned. Check the AFE return thread through the search on here and on mfestforum.com

Wow 90 degrees is hot, especially in Mid-November, right now in D.C. its about 50 degrees and the AFE performs better in colder temperatures, but the stock box with a drop-in gives you better low-mid range power, AFE CAI only kicks in on the higher rpm range, I have went back and forth and prefer the stock airbox though.
