Since I have been a member of this form i have only seen either BMW OEM rims, Replicas, or the hyper black ones. Not many if any chrome. My question is why do so many of you perfer these other rims instead of chrome? Is there a particualr reason, maybe resale or just keeping wtih the overal BMW integrity of the car, I don't know. At first I wanted the OEM 166's but one of my partners has a 2005 525I in white with 20" chrome wheels and it looks very good. The only issue is that when he turns the wheel all the way to either side he gets a little rubbing, but I have since told him about getting the fender pushed back or whaterver its called on here. So I am not really sure about what rim style to get now. I really think the 166's and 167's look very aggressive but yet still classy. So I am really having a issue with this seeing that my car should be here this comming week. So any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thansk Fellas

I just hate the look of chrome wheels on any car. I think it makes the car look cheap and ghetto. But that is my personal preference. I also do not think cars should have dark gray or even black rims unless they are used on the track. I think that ones that have black rims are race wannabees yet have zero skill.
Again its your car do what ever you think looks best. It is an expression of who you are.

IMO this modding is only just about tolerable in the US.
Don't mess with it in Europe. If you do decide to change bumpers, wheels etc, keep all original parts. Trade-in suffers badly otherwise.
Modding in Europe is for very old cars.
