Default Advice with lip spoiler adhesive

I installed the AC type lip spoiler this past Wednesday. I prep'd the area with alcohol and installed. It is hot as hell where I live and it seems to melt the 3m tape every time the car sits outside for a while.

Im thinking about removing it tomorrow and changing the 3m tape to something with more adhesive. Any suggestions? Its mainly at the corners that seems to melt in the sun.

the 3m tape should hold nicely. if you want something permanent, then you can use beta link glue.

if you want to go with something more permanent, there's always the bmw/oem betalink adhesive...

I would rather not go permanent just in case. Im thinking the fact that I waxed it a few days before is not helping. I guess I'll just re-apply some 3M tape.

Gene, where would I find that betalink and would I be able to remove it in the future without damaging the paint? I doubt I will ever remove it but just in case. Thanks fellas.

your dealership parts dept should have it, it's offered when you purchase oem performance spoilers and splitters...

you won't be able to remove the spoiler without damaging the paint if you use it tho...

if you want to remove it later without damaging paint, you'll have to use double sided tape, 3M...

just make sure you let it sit for a good amount of time and put a good amount of pressure on it while it's curing...

Also, before redoing it, make sure you claybar the contact points to remove the wax and thoroughly clean it. That way it would stick better. I claybar'ed my trunk before using the 3M tape for my trunk spoiler and it's still on there pretty good.

I tried removing it and it was on their pretty good. So I left it on and just changed the 3M tape on both corners which is where it would come up in the sun. Used some tape to keep pressure on it for a few hours.

Went out around noon yesterday and didn't have any problems. Hopefully it's good to go.
