Hey guys, so i am waiting for my Saphire black04" 530i prem package to get here! No mods on it... I want to upgrade the wheels, With 20's do i need to lower the car or do something with the springs so the car does not look awkward, or will it sit nice without any changes. Also i heard about rubbing with 20's is this true? I'm going with these beautiful wheels here i think. I know 20's aren't as comfortable as 19's but they sure do look better..lol

20 x 8.5(Front) +20x10(Rear)
245/35/20(Front) + 275/30/20(Rear)

Depending on the offsets of the wheels and the brand of tires you use, there's a chance you'll rub on the rear fenders (easily fixed by rolling your fenders though). I would definitely recommend lowering! Aftermarket wheels make the car appear to sit like a truck w/o a drop.

LOL, thanks for the props.

My car is lowered on coilovers. Definitely not the cheapest option (about$2000 installed), but if you want the best ride quality and height adjust ability, these are your best option.

If you want a modest drop, I would recommend H&R Sport (approximately 1.5" drop all around). Most members on the forum run these and love the look. If you want a drop that looks closer to mine, I would recommend H&R Race (2" drop all around). Both spring setups will run you anywhere from $300-500 installed.

M-Tech generally cost about $2500 installed, but if you know of a good local body shop, you can probably get it done cheaper if you buy the kit unpainted and primered from someone like Garry.

Good luck with your ride!

What do you know you live in NASCAR country. Just kidding!

How does aftermarket wheels devalue your ride? Did you not notice the majority of the members are sporting aftermarket wheels?

Are you related to SleepyCa?

Hey now..comparing me to SleepyCat/redwhiteblue is serious business. I do not pose as a nurse/doctor/candy striper. I am who I am.

Yeah..you are correct about the NASCAR country too ...(wtf was I thinking moving here?)...I am the only one that has a 5 series and Porsche for miles and get ugly looks for not driving a jacked up F-150 or Silverado. Personally a fan of the NHRA.

Anyway..in all seriousness, show me one car that has been increased in value by after market wheels that are non OEM. Yes I am boring and like what BMW corporate has to offer, but then again I like what they do have to offer.

As I said, its your ride and your dollar, not mine. Just offering my 2 cents.

What are the offsets on the wheels?

If your car has the sport suspension it will sit really nice with 20s... my car almost has 0 fender gap.

You will not rub with 20s if you use correct tire sizes and have the correct offset.

"20s are not as comfortable as 19s" does not make sense... the ride quality will actually be the same because the sidewall sizes are the same on the 19s and 20s.
