I'm thinking of a way to add a secondary battery to my 535. Now I came from owning a jeep which had "just enough essential parts" (so no special battery monitors etc etc). I was able to add a secondary battery using an isolator, duct tape, and some wire ties so when it was turned off I was only draining one battery but charging both simultaneously. I plan on spending quite a bit of time in my car (if I am camping, or traveling) and I have a worry that I may just kill off the battery. Any advice on how to go about adding a second battery.

Why risk the chance of blowing a fuse, etc.?

Why don't you just buy one of these:
