I am trying to add satellite radio to my 2006 530i. Based on my 08/2005 production date, REALOEM.COM indicates that I need to use part number 65126948064.
I have an opportunity to buy part number 65129142852 which apparently came out of a 2008 E60. Can I use the newer part number?
I do have the satellite pre-wire installed already.
Thanks.

I don't believe that you can use the newer part number. I was on circlebmw's site earlier and they basically confirmed the info that you have in your post.

I looked into installing satellite radio in my '05 and I just couldn't stomach paying roughly $600 (including software). I ended up installing XM in my car....here's my thread:

I don't have navigation, so the little dash pocket that I used worked PERFECTLY. I already had the XM Sportscaster unit (nothing fancy) but it does the job and it was right around $50 at the time. It's probably much less nowadays.
