I have an '05 545i with Nav, premium sound, 6 cd changer and sat prep. I asked the dealer to install satellite radio but they told me that I would have to lose the CD changer because there is only 1 connection supported. So I went to an aftermarket shop, they told me that they could add satellite through an FM modulator, but it wont appear on the idrive screen, I will have to look at a smaller screen that will be down by the asstray to tune it. Is there any way to allow the car to support both the 6 CD changer and satellite radio?

 

Not to my knowledge. I would say go with the idrive interface rather than the external unit. It looks so much better and has the true OEM feel. Plus the sound quality thru a fm mod is not as good, subpar if you will..
