Do you really want more horsepower on a car you apparently just bought? Or do you want to do away with the lag off the line -- if the latter, then get sprint booster. I hate the lag. I had sprint booster on my last 5er. Quite a difference.

I recommend breaking in the engine before doing ANYTHING engine related. Especially the SB since it makes the engine rev up like nothing else.

The SB/sprint booster does not add hp's...only increases your throttle response...
I would start with removing your charcoal air filter...

http://forums.e60.net/index.php?s=&sho...st&p=823046

that is post #188, post #189 has pics for the 2008+ 550i, the first post explains why this helps...

another mod would be an RPi air scoop + drop-in filter...

the upper right search bar could get you some info on this...

might want to update your profile with your location...as members local to you can suggest shops and/or vendors to get these....

I think I read that the RPi/Powerchip ecu flash is invisible => no warranty voided...

Members Trinity Autosport and/or Nerweezy can provide you with more info about the scoop and ecu flash as well...shoot them a PM (as they are well known and heavily used vendors on this forum)

GL and congrats on your new 550i

the M5 requires 2 ram air scoops because there is an airbox on each side. the 545 only requires 1 scoop as there is only one airbox on the drivers side, but we have sold 2 scoops to some 545s that have the Dinan intake. the dinan intake has 2 intakes so 2 scoops can be used.

Take out the mats, remove the spare tire, drive with only a couple of gallons of gas, remove the rear seats, drive nude and make sure you have nothing heavy in your stomach.
