Default Adaptive pre-lci light compatibility?

I've been looking to replace my current set of headlights with a new pair which will get modded by Chris. I found some locally I purchased, however when I brought them home I realized they are pre-lci xenon adaptive headlights. I currently have pre-lci non-adaptive xenon headlights. The ballasts are different so I would need to buy the newer pre-lci ballasts for these. My question is if these would work on my current car? I don't care if the adaptive function works, I just want at least the same function as my previous ones. Would they require programming to work? I have a 04. The reason why I ask is I don't want to order ballasts and send these off to have all the work done if I need to recode or change the LCM module at all. I searched but found some conflicting stuff. Its its gonna take alot of extra work I may just sell these and get another set.

Phil are you sure your's are not adaptive? Yes, the 2004 headlights were different than 2005 and onwards, but I do not recall non-adaptive xenons were sold for the E60 here in the states.

I'm with Simon on this. I actually just had a customer bring in his 2004 lights and the ballast was totally different. Kinda odd. I've nvr seen that in person. But I think the lights you bought will work....with the correct ballasts that is...

Yeah I think you guys are right, they seemed to function fine without ballasts. YGM Chris

LOL, yeah, as I recall the only changes made to pre-LCI headlights were that they went from a rectangle plug for the ballast to the oval plug, but they are all adaptive.
